Departure Day

We shall depart for South Luangwa National Park Safari on this Day, we Trip we depart either in Lilongwe (Malawi) or Lusaka (Zambia) We leave Lilongwe/Lusaka at 07h00, driving to South Luangwa though the capital of the Eastern Province of Zambia, Chipata. From friendly Chipata we allow time for Lunch (not included in Cost if departing from Lilongwe) and leave for South Luangwa afterwards The Luangwa Valley covers 9050 kmĀ² of unspoiled woodland and river-line vegetation, home to over 40 mammal and 650 bird species. Arriving at our overnight safari lodge by the mid-afternoon or before sunset. Welcome drinks are served when we arrive and then we check in. We settle in at our chalets and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing before dinner, served from 19h30 on-wards.

It's an early wakeup call in preparation for the morning drive. Enjoy a light breakfast, served with coffee or tea before setting off for the second foray into the National Park. During the drive there are excellent chances of sighting elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and zebra. You return to camp at around 10:00. The early afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure; perhaps you fancy a snooze, a swim in the Camp pool, or just the opportunity to swap stories and photographs at the bar. In the cool of the early evening will be time to enjoy another evening game drive that will get you back at around 20:00hrs. You will enjoy you dinner back at the Lodge

Day 3

South Luangwa

After breakfast, this will be time to enjoy a walking safari. You come close to the animal nature and learn more about the local significance of the unique Luangwa flora, including the many spiritual and medicinal uses for the plants and trees found in the valley. You will head back to camp at around 10:00hrs for you to rest or share your experience with others who may not have had the opportunity to go on a walking safari. Lunch will be saved at the camp at around 13:00hrs or so. Sundowners are enjoyed in a beautiful spot overlooking the Luangwa River, before another night drive back to camp and a tasty dinner at 20:00.

Day 4

South Luangwa

The fourth day will be as Day 2. The heat of midday is spent relaxing at the camp in the shade or pool. Lunch will be saved at the camp. A night drive begins with excellent opportunities to spot shy nocturnal animals such as genets, civets, bush babies and maybe even the diminutive Sharpe's Ghrysbok.

South Luangwa Behind Us

Today we enjoy breakfast at a leisurely pace if leaving for Lilongwe, if leaving for Lusaka we aim to start off as early as possible. We shall stop over in Chipata for to buy our packed Lunch if leaving for Lusaka, lunch break on route. To those going to Lilongwe we shall stop over to visit Tribal Textiles.
